Better pay your parking tickets
Vehicles that have 10 or more outstanding parking tickets can now be towed in El Lago if they are on public property.
City Council approved the change during its meeting Wednesday night, City Secretary Ann Vernon said. It goes into effect immediately.
The city has had problems with a few vehicles in the city that have 30 to 40 outstanding parking tickets. Vehicles cannot be parked on the street between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.
The fine for a parking ticket is $15. A vehicle towed for outstanding parking tickets will only be released to its owner after the citations and towing fee are paid, Vernon said.
