Answer: Eckerd's and Grandy's

An Eckerd's drugstore, just across the street from rival CVS. But then CVS bought Eckerd's, and Eckerd's eventually went away. Further back in time, at that same corner, there was a Grandy's fast-food restaurant. Grandy's had the most coveted playground. Kids would convince parents to go there and refuse to eat because they wanted to play. Behind Grandy's in the shopping center that now has a gym, Specs used to be a series of grocery stores: Eagles, Pyburn's, H.E.B.
