Woman with box-cutter arrested on Highway 3

League City police say they arrested a Houston woman over the weekend after they found her in a parking lot on Highway 3 swinging a box-cutter at her boyfriend.
Lucila Torres, 31, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was taken to the Galveston County Jail on $40,000 bond.
Police received a call from a passing motorist about 11:35 a.m. Sunday reporting that a woman and a man were having a disturbance in the 800 block of Highway 3 North. Police said that officers dispatched to the scene found Torres aggressively swinging a box-cutter at her 33-year-old boyfriend.
She was instructed to return to her vehicle or drop the box-cutter, both of which she declined to do, Whitten said. Officers struggled with her, he said, and when they got the box-cutter away from her, she was taken into custody.
Her boyfriend had been hit several times and had some scratch marks, Whitten said.
