2 houses catch fire in Brook Forest

A house for sale in Brook Forest caught fire Thursday afternoon, and it spread to the house next door before firefighters could extinguish it.
District 71 Fire Chief G.R. Bennett said no one appeared to be at either home in the 15800 block of Crestbrook, just a block from Armand Bayou Elementary School, when the first house caught fire shortly before 2:38 p.m.
Smoke filled the Clear Lake City neighborhood and crowds gathered in the hot sun to watch firefighters put out the fire, which was mostly out an hour later.
