Seabrook teacher heading to space camp
Seabrook Intermediate School teacher Christopher Lowe will get some real-life astronaut training at a camp designed to help teachers move beyond the standard math and science curriculum with supplemental teaching.
The camp which is Friday through June 23 at U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala. will include training in high-performance jet simulation, scenario-based space missions and water survival.
Lowe is one of 220 teachers from 17 countries and 44 states awarded a full scholarship to the camp through the Honeywell Educators at Space Academy program.
