Friendswood High gets another Lone Star Cup

For the second consecutive year, Friendswood High School has won the University Interscholastic League Lone Star Cup, which recognizes achievements in various athletic and academic competitions.
Friendswood edged Austin Lake Travis for this year's Class 4A title, according to this article from the Friendswood Journal.
Achievements considered in determining the award winner include accomplishments in such activities as one-act plays, marching band and the state academic meet.
This school year, Friendswood won the academic state championship, finished second in the marching band contest, placed third at state in the one-act play competition and made the playoffs with all its sports teams, according to the article.
Final team totals haven't been officially released, but the UIL informed Friendswood administrators this week that the school has won the award.
Friendswood became the first Greater Houston-area school to win the Class 4A title last year, ending a six-year reign by Dallas Highland Park.
