Man claims wife stole neighbor's poodle

League City police are investigating a man's claim that his wife stole a neighbor's miniature chocolate poodle and sold it.
The theft on Coronado Way was reported to police by the 28-year-old man at 10:45 p.m. Monday, but occurred approximately two months ago, League City Police Sgt. John Jordan said.
The man submitted an affidavit to police in which he stated his 29-year-old wife had stolen the dog from a female neighbor and sold it to a Wal-Mart employee.
The dog is valued at $1,000, Jordan said. Police plan to interview the wife and the Wal-Mart employee, he said.
During his 11 years with League City police, Jordan said he could only recall one other report of a stolen dog, but it wasn't under similar circumstances.
You hardly ever see a husband filling out an affidavit of facts saying that their wife committed a crime," Jordan said.
Those with information are asked to call 281-338-8210.
