Taylor Lake Village roadwork wrapping up
A project to replace pavement on two streets in a Taylor Lake Village subdivision is 60 to 70 percent complete and should be finished June 17.
The $288,446 city project is for upgrades to Bluebonnet Drive and Rosebudin the Taylor Lakes Estates subdivision, Mayor Natalie O'Neill said. The work started in April and is being done by Metro City Construction.
Both streets' sub-grade and surface are being replaced, O'Neill said. Each had structural problems, she said.
The work on Rosebud is complete and crews just need to finish up the east side of Bluebonnet Drive along with some curb work to be done by June 17, O'Neill said.
They're doing a fabulous job," O'Neill said. We've had very few problems."
Yet with school out for summer starting at the end of this week, O'Neill said her only concern about the project's remaining work is making sure that children don't write inappropriate words in the wet concrete, which has been a problem in the past.
That's my big worry right now," she said. I hope they don't do that."
