Clear Lake grad Westby scores 6 points in Tulane victory
Clear Lake High School graduate Ashley Westby scored six points in Tulane University's 74-59 home win over conference rival the University of Tulsa on Feb. 24, according to Tulane's website.
The junior center also recorded one rebound and one block for the Green Wave who improved to 20-6 on the season and 9-4 in the C-USA.
Tulane's next game is 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 on the road against Southern Methodist University.
Westby is a 2010 graduate of Clear Lake High School where she was a two-year letter winner on the basketball court for coach Angela Beck. During her two seasons on the varsity team at Clear Lake, Westby helped the Falcons go 46-21 overall and 23-5 in District 24-5A play while advancing to the playoffs each season. As a senior, Westby was named the district's offensive player of the year and a first-team all-district honoree after averaging 13.4 points per game. Westby averaged 14 points and 16 rebounds per contest as a junior to collect second-team all-district accolades. In addition to basketball, she played soccer at Clear Lake. Westby is majoring in business management at Tulane and is from Houston.
