Clear Creek grad Carter helps in Sam Houston State victory
Clear Creek High School graduate Nyha Carter played for Sam Houston State University in its 64-50 win at home over conference rival Stephen F. Austin State University on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville, Sam's website reported.
Carter recorded two rebounds for the Bearkats, who improved to 14-12 on the season and 10-4 in the Southland Conference.
Sam Houston State's next game is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 at home against Nicholls State University.
Carter, a 5-foot-10 junior forward for Sam Houston State University, is a 2010 graduate of Clear Creek High School. The League City native was a three-time All-District 24-5A selection during high school and was named the district's Defensive Player of the Year her sophomore and junior years.
