Arts Alliance Center of Clear Lake announces new board, projects

The Arts Alliance Center of Clear Lake announced its 2013 board of directors as well as two new projects to expand the development of Bay Area Houston as a destination for the arts.
Members of the Arts Alliance Center of Clear Lake 2013 Board of Directors are Susan Anne Braymer, Myrna Baker, Dr. Tina Farrell, Barbara Stubblefield, Rita Armstrong, Judith Blanchard, Richard Williams, Mary Lou Johnson, Jim Sweeney, Jan Larson, Pam Culpepper, Csilla Stiles, Joyce Abbey, Jack Amuny, Heather Ann Amuny, Tim Dittman, Cheryl Evans, Dr. Marilyn Smith, Sue Garman and Dion McInnis.
According to a press release from The Arts Alliance Center of Clear Lake, "To unite the arts, expand the art education offerings and promote art activities, TAACCL has developed two endeavors — DestinationArt! and the Bay Area Houston Art Festival."
DestinationArt! is a collaborative effort to unite area artists and organizations to develop and promote the Bay Area Houston as an arts destination, according to the release.
The Bay Area Houston Art Festival is a two-day juried festival Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28. Those interested in being a part of the festival can request an application by emailing cfischer@taaccl.org or calling 281-335-7777. There is a $25 application fee and the deadline for applications is Friday, March 8.
The Arts Alliance Center of Clear Lake is a not-for-profit cultural arts organization founded in 1997 to work in conjunction with individuals, educational institutions and other entities to present and promote the arts through exhibitions, classes, workshops and special events for all age groups. TAACCL's new education center is located on Upper Bay Road in Nassau Bay.
