Clear Creek grad Carter plays in Sam Houston State loss
League City native Nyha Carter contributed two points to Sam Houston State University's 71-51 loss to conference rival the University of Central Arkansas on Saturday, Feb. 16, Sam Houston State's website reported.
The 5-foot-10 junior forward also recorded one rebound and one block for the Bearkats, who are 13-12 on the season and 9-4 in the Southland Conference.
Sam Houston State's next game is at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at home against Stephen F. Austin State University.
Carter is a 2010 graduate of Clear Creek High School, where she was a three-time All-District 24-5A selection.
During her sophomore and junior years, Carter was named the district's defensive player of the year.
