Clear Lake grad Sutherland leads US Coast Guard Academy to win
Clear Lake High School graduate Victoria Sutherland led the U.S. Coast Guard Academy to a 64-56 victory against conference rival Wellesley College with 25 points.
The game was played Wednesday, Feb. 13 in Wellesley, Mass., the U.S. Coast Guard Academy website reported.
The U.S. Coast Guard Academy freshman guard also recorded six rebounds and two assists for the Bears, who improved to 10-13 on the season and 8-9 in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference.
The U.S. Coast Guard Academy's next game is 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 at home against Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Sutherland, a 5-foot-9 freshman guard for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, graduated Clear Lake High School in 2012. She is a Houston native.
