Assisteens of Bay Area host 5K Run
Assisteens of the Bay Area hosted their second annual 5K Run on Jan. 5.
According to an Assisteens of the Bay Area press release, "Despite near freezing temperatures and a rainy forecast, 118 teens and community members joined in an effort to raise awareness and funding for Operation School Bell, a philanthropic program of Assistance League of the Bay Area. Trisha Totten, Assisteens coordinator, said the 5K raised over $7,000, which will be used to clothe children in the Clear Creek, Dickinson, Friendswood and La Porte school districts."
"The Assisteens of the Bay Area graciously thank the participants, volunteers and sponsors of this years event," said Trisha Totten, Assisteens coordinator, according to the release. "We were overwhelmed with the outpouring of generosity and support for the 5K and our efforts to continue the growth and development of Operation School Bell."
The event raised money for Assistance League of the Bay Area's Operation School Bell.
