Two Houston natives graduate from San Jacinto College nursing assistant program

Two Houston natives, Karl Batiste and Teranesha Soloman, recently graduated from the certified nursing assistant program at San Jacinto College.

According to a college press release, "Both students applied to the nine-week CNA course with financial assistance from the Texas Public Education Grant through the college's Continuing and Professional Development division, while at the same time receiving housing and transportation from Builders Without Borders of Texas."

Batiste hopes to one day work in a hospital, while Soloman plans to pursue training in medical imaging.

San Jacinto College has three campuses and offers 200 degree and certificate courses to its more than 25,000 students. It offered its first classes in 1961. Two campuses are located in Houston and the third is in Pasadena. Brenda Hellyer is the college chancellor.

San Jacinto College is at 4624 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena.
