Carol Keough nominated for 2012 Athena Award
The League City Chamber of Commerce recently recognized Carol Keough as a nominee for the 2012 Athena Award.
According to a chamber press release, nominees are chosen for professional excellence, community service and for actively assisting women achieve professional excellence and leadership skills.
Keough is the director of Coats Rose law firm in League City.
"I am so proud to have been chosen to join the remarkable women who have been recognized for this award over the years," said Keough in the release. "Supporting and empowering women to be the best at what they do is something I consider vitally important."
Keough has been practicing law for more than 19 years. She is board-certified in labor and employment law and has handled appeals to the Fifth Circuit, state Court of Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court. She practices in labor-related litigation, including employment/labor insurance coverage, commercial business law and contract negotiations.
Coats Rose is made up of more than 90 attorneys and has offices in Houston, Clear Lake, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.
The League City Chamber of Commerce's Athena Leadership Award was inspired by the mythical Greek goddess known for her strength, courage, wisdom and enlightenment.
