Clear Creek grad Carter contributes to Sam Houston State victory
Clear Creek High School graduate Nyha Carter played for Sam Houston State in a 54-47 win at home against conference rival Oral Roberts on Jan. 19 at Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville, Sam Houston State's website reported.
The Sam Houston State University forward recorded three rebounds for the Bearkats, who improved to 9-9 on the season and 5-1 in the Southland Conference.
Sam Houston State's next game is 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 on the road against Southeastern Louisiana University.
Carter, a 5-foot-10 junior forward for Sam Houston State University, is a 2010 graduate of Clear Creek High School. The League City native was a three-time All-District 24-5A selection during high school and was named the district's Defensive Player of the Year her sophomore and junior years.
