Clear Lake grad Westby records 1 rebound in Tulane victory
Clear Lake High School graduate Ashley Westby recorded one rebound for Tulane University in a 67-57 win against conference rival Marshall University on Jan. 13, according to Tulane's website.
The Green Wave improved to 12-3 on the season and 1-1 in the conference.
Tulane's next game is 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 on the road against Rice University.
Westby is a 2010 graduate of Clear Lake High School where she was a two-year letter winner on the basketball court for coach Angela Beck. During her two seasons on the varsity team at Clear Lake, Westby helped the Falcons go 46-21 overall and 23-5 in District 24-5A play while advancing to the playoffs each season. As a senior, Westby was named the district's offensive player of the year and a first-team all-district honoree after averaging 13.4 points per game. In addition to basketball, she played soccer at Clear Lake. Westby is majoring in business management at Tulane and is from Houston.
