Olympian inspires track standout
A: Florence Griffith-Joyner. I love how she doesn’t start off as fast, but when people least expect it, she’ll catch up on everybody, and her times will be fantastic.
Q: Who motivates you the most?
A: My mom motivates me because she used to run track in high school. She pursued more in computer management than in sports, so she didn’t take it as far, but she motivates me and tells me that I can be the best.
Q: Do you have any pre-race rituals?
A: Yes, I listen to music, and I say a prayer.
Q: How have your coaches made you a better runner?
A: They push me and motivate me in any way possible, and when I’m down, they tell me that everything is going to be OK and I just have to keep trying.
