Curtis Gannon exhibition to open at Galveston Arts Center on Jan. 19
The Curtis Gannon exhibition "Never Enough" will be on display from Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 through Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Galveston Arts Center.
According to an announcement from the museum, the exhibition features collages along with a site-specific installation. It will open during the Jan. 19 ArtWalk. Curator Clint Willour will lead a gallery talk with the artist beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Gannon's inspiration is comic books, an interest he has had since early childhood, the announcement said. He is drawn to the innocence of comics from the 1950s, and has spent much of his artistic life creating paintings of those comics. His current exhibition, "Never Enough," contains work that has been sliced and diced from his favorite comic books.
Galveston Arts Center is located at 2501 Market St., in Galveston.
