Students in the San Jacinto College North EMT program recently hit the paintball battlefield to learn about tactical emergency medical technicians' work.
"The San Jacinto College North EMT program rented a local paintball range recently for a few hours to stage a simulated training scenario so that students could learn about a tactical type of EMS work known as care under fire, which deals with moving a patient quickly and safely from a danger zone to a safe area where medics can provide care. The student teams also participated in combined drills that pitted students against San Jacinto College EMT instructors," according to a San Jacinto College press release.
The college has three campuses and offers 200 degree and certificate courses to its more than 25,000 students. It offered its first classes in 1961. Two campuses are located in Houston and the third is in Pasadena.
San Jacinto College is at 8060 Spencer Highway, Pasadena.
