Clear Lake grad Westby plays in Tulane loss
Clear Lake High School graduate Ashley Westby played as Tulane University lost its first game of the season, 70-65 to Auburn University Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans, according to the Tulane website.
The junior center and the Green Wave are 5-1 on the season.
Westby is a 2010 graduate of Clear Lake High School where she was a two-year letter winner on the basketball court for coach Angela Beck. During her two seasons (2008-09 and 2009-10) on the varsity team at Clear Lake Westby helped the Falcons go 46-21 overall and 23-5 in District 24-5A play while advancing to the playoffs each season. As a senior Westby was named the district's offensive player of the year and a first-team all-district honoree after averaging 13.4 points per game. Westby averaged 14 points and 16 rebounds per contest as a junior to collect second-team all-district accolades. In addition to basketball she played soccer at Clear Lake. Born June 8 1992 the daughter of Tim and Christine Westby she is majoring in business management at Tulane. Westby is from Houston.
