Volunteer deputy registrar training resumes in January
The Galveston County Tax Assessor's Office has announced that volunteer deputy registrar training will resume in January.
According to the office, "VDRs work in partnership with county voter registrars across the state, assisting citizens wishing to register to vote. All VDR certifications end in December of even numbered years, thus training for November and December has been suspended."
The next class is set for 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. Classes last one hour. VDR training is conducted each month on the third Friday at the Commissioners Courtroom, 722 Moody, Galveston. Registration is not required.
