First half of Galveston County property taxes due Nov. 30
The Galveston County Tax Assessor's Office has announced that county property owners wishing to pay property taxes half now – half later, have until Friday, Nov. 30 to make the first payment.
If mailed, payment must be postmarked by that date in order to avoid penalty and interest on the second half. The second half of taxes are due by Monday, July 1, 2013.
According to the property tax office, "Only three county tax office collection customers have opted out of the payment option – the City of Dickinson, Dickinson ISD and Galveston County MUD #12 (Bayou Vista). Galveston College regents, who had previously opted out of the payment plan voted over the summer to participate, thus all Island residents may take advantage and split their entire tax bill for the first time this year."
