Fruit tree class scheduled for Dec. 1

Registration is under way for the Fruit Tree Planting class on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Galveston County AgriLife Extension Office.

According to a press release issued by the extension office, "Topics to be covered include fruit tree selection, rootstocks, chill hours, planting, and pruning back the planted tree. The program will also include a discussion and demonstration of the proper root pruning of container-grown trees."

The course will be taught by Master Gardener Herman Auer and will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. It is free of charge.

The Galveston County AgriLife Extension Office is located at 4102-B Main St., La Marque.
