Clear Lake athletes in action: College Football

The following college football players, all with Clear Lake high school ties, have scheduled action this week:

Austin Beaty, U.S. Naval Academy
High School: Friendswood High School
This week: Saturday, Nov. 10, at Troy University
About Beaty: Beaty is a 2008 graduate of Friendswood High School, where he was a three-year letterman on the football team as a running back. He was a first-team All-District honoree as a junior and senior. Born Jan. 12, 1990 the son of Roy and Linda Beaty, he is majoring in quantitative economics at the United States Naval Academy. Beaty is from Friendswood.

Trevon Randle, LSU
High School: Clear Springs High School

Josh McNary, United States Military Academy at West Point
High School: Clear Lake High School
This week:Saturday, Nov. 10, at Rutgers
About McNary: Son of George and Cecilia McNary. Josh was an All-District selection at Clear Lake High School in Houston, where he played for head coach Troy Aduddell. A standout defensive lineman, he moved from strong safety to defensive tackle at beginning of senior year. He led the team in quarterback sacks but was not highly recruited due to lack of size for a defensive tackle. McNary registered 11.0 sacks during a one-year stint at USMA Prep School.
