DuPont Rubber Duck Regatta sets sail Nov. 10 at Sylvan Beach
The DuPont Rubber Duck Regatta, a benefit for La Porte Education Foundation, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at Sylvan Beach.
The public is invited to come and watch as 5,000 rubber ducks are dumped into the raceway in Galveston Bay to "splash" their way to shore.
Those who would like to "adopt" ducks for the chance to win a variety of prizes can pick up entry forms at the La Porte ISD administration building as well as any La Porte ISD campus.
Adopting a single duck costs $5. Larger packages are also available.
"The DuPont Rubber Duck Regatta is an excellent opportunity for community members to show their support for La Porte ISD students and teachers," said Debbie Wade, vice president for fundraising and Duck Regatta chairperson, according to a press release. "Each duck adoption helps the La Porte Education Foundation to fund innovative, creative instructional projects in our district."
