Report street lights that don't work in Kemah
It's been 18 months since Hurricane Ike slammed ashore, but many of Kemah's street lights are still broken and the city's enlisting residents to help.
The city is asking residents to report lights that don't work to CenterPoint Energy here so that they can be repaired. To report a light, the six-digit number on the light's pole is needed.
City Secretary Kathy Pierce said CenterPoint Energy doesn't send out workers to drive around at night, so they don't know what street lights are out.
"They're relying on the cities to help them repair the lights that are not working properly," Pierce said.
