Sexual assault case involves mistaken identity
League City police are investigating a sexual assault case in which a woman reported she had sex with a man she thought was her boyfriend while she was drunk, then realized it wasn't him.
League City Police Sgt. John Jordan said the incident occurred Wednesday night at an apartment complex in the 4100 block of League City Parkway.
The woman told police that she and her boyfriend had been drinking heavily at an apartment with a friend. She went to sleep and remembers her pants being taken off by someone who laid down in the bed behind her.
At the time, the woman thought the man was her boyfriend, Jordan said. She reported that after having sex, the man left and when he did, the woman realized that he was not her boyfriend, who turned out to be sleeping on the couch.
The assailant is described as a white male who is 5-foot-7 and 140 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call 281-338-4182 or 281-338-8210.
