Man's jaw broken in melee at League City park

A League City man suffered a fractured jaw during a fight that erupted over the weekend at a park in the city, police said.
League City Police Sgt. John Jordan said a 31-year-old man who was having trouble talking called police Wednesday and told them he was with his cousin at a park party Sunday evening in the Oaks of Clear Creek subdivision at 210 W. Washington Street when a large fight started.
The man told police that he tried to leave the fight, but while walking to his vehicle was struck by an unknown person or object on the left side of his face.
The blow knocked the man to his knees, and he began bleeding from his mouth, Jordan said. The man was able to drive to his girlfriend's house and then went to the emergency room at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, where he was treated for a fractured jaw.
Police did not receive other calls about anything happening at the park, Jordan said.
Anyone with information about it is asked to call 281-338-4182 or 281-338-8210.
