Car burglars find new spots for their dirty work
Car burglars targeted a couple of new areas over the weekend in League City, hitting five cars in two locations.
Two vehicles were burglarized in the 300 block of Mammoth Springs between Saturday at 9 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. Another vehicle parked in a driveway in the 200 block of Mammoth Springs Lane had a black canvas bag with six compact discs, leather cleaner, and insurance papers stolen between Saturday at 10 p.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m.
Two other vehicles were also burglarized in the 2800 block of Pointe Drive between Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at noon. One was locked and parked in a driveway, but still had a Cobra radar detector stolen.
The other was parked in the street and had an Xbox 360 stolen along with three video games.
League City Police Sgt. David Hausam said investigators may start using unmarked vehicles for surveillance in likely spots.
We've got a few areas that we've identified for statistical analysis," Hausam said. A lot of it has to do with luck. You have to be out there at the same time they're out there and be able to see them."
