Girl accused of kicking grandmother in the face

A 13-year-old League City girl was arrested after her grandmother reported the girl kicked her in the face while the woman was driving.
The incident occurred Thursday between 8:05 p.m. and 8:13 p.m. in the 300 block of Sorrelwood Drive in League City.
League City Police Lt. Bruce Whitten said the two had been arguing in the car about attending a volleyball game. Then the teen laid down and started kicking her 65-year-old grandmother in the face, Whitten said. The woman called police, and the girl was arrested.
The grandmother suffered minor injuries, but was not taken to a hospital. The girl is charged with injury to an elderly person, which is a state felony assault charge, Whitten said.
She was taken to the Galveston County Juvenile Justice Department. Her name is not being released because she is a juvenile.
