Toyota sued over 2009 crash on El Camino

The son of an elderly Clear Lake City couple is suing over a deadly crash he says happened when their Camry suddenly accelerated and crashed into a utility pole last year.
The Galveston County Daily News reports that a wrongful death lawsuit was filed on behalf of the couple's son against Star Toyota, Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., CTS Corp. and Gulf States Toyota in Galveston's 122nd District Court. The suit is seeking $100 million in the deaths of Janice H. Berg, 79, and her husband, Kenneth D. Berg, 85.
According to the Houston Police Department report on last Feb. 24's crash:
Mrs. Berg was driving a 2009 silver Toyota Camry south on El Camino Real and crossing the intersection of Kingstone when, for unknown reasons, her vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole.
Since then, Toyota has recalled 6 million cars in the United States to repair sticking throttles.
