3 arrested at NASA Parkway massage parlor
A woman suspected of prostitution was arrested at a massage parlor in a NASA Parkway strip mall at El Camino Real.
Webster police say Yuqin Qi, 47, was arrested last Wednesday about 12:30 p.m. at Tender Massage, 1047 E. NASA Parkway, after she offered to give an undercover Houston police officer more than a massage for $40.
Police say Xiuying Zhang, 39, the owner of Tender Massage, was also arrested, accused of allowing Deying Yen, 36, to work at the massage parlor without a license. Yen was arrested as well as an unlicensed massage therapist.
The charge for each woman is a Class B misdemeanor that carries a fine of up to $2,000 and jail time of up to six months.
Webster detective Juan Quintana said police originally received a tip about the massage parlor from a business owner who was upset that people were constantly going in and out on weekdays. After looking into the complaint, Webster police had two men from the Houston police department's vice squad visit the parlor last week, he said.
Webster police waited outside and then went in to make arrests after one of the vice officers informed them of Qi's offer, Quintana said. The incident at Tender Message is the first prostitution solicitation at a massage parlor that Webster police could recall, he said.
Hopefully this will shut them down," Quintana said. We definitely don't want them here in Clear Lake."
