San Jacinto College offers in-house IT training for companies
San Jacinto College is offering computer information technology courses this fall for companies and businesses through its continuing and professional development division. The college is hosting more than a dozen classes from October through December in programming, graphic design, business applications and computer foundation training, according to the college website. September enrollment options include courses about programming basics, C++ introduction, Microsoft Word and a one-day Microsoft Excel course. Jerelyn Glenn, director of IT training with the continuing and professional development division, said the college's prices offer a cheaper alternative for businesses that don't want to hire expensive private training companies. "There are many jobs in the Houston metropolitan area available for computer repair, networking, security, computer applications and website development," Glenn said in the release. "Our costs are going to be almost a fourth to a half less than private companies. We also offer a variety of grants for financial assistance." San Jacinto College is located at 13735 Beamer Road in Houston. For more information on corporate training, call Jerelyn Glenn at 832-932-5248 or Michele Haugh at 281-332-8400.
