Teen's shooting in League City investigated

League City police are investigating what they say is a drug deal that ended with a teen shot in the stomach.
League City Police Sgt. David Hausam said the youth was in intensive care at a Houston hospital over the weekend. Police aren't allowed to release the names of juveniles, but in this case Hausam said police weren't releasing the teen's name because they were unsure whether he is a suspect or a victim.
The shooting occurred Friday about 10:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Audubon during a deal involving marijuana, Hausam said. At least five people were involved in the incident, he said.
For right now, everybody's a witness, everybody's a victim, everybody's a suspect until we can figure everything out," Hausam said.
As of this morning, the only thing that police knew about the shooting was that drugs played a role in it, Hausam said.
The question is how did it end up in a shooting . . . Was it a robbery? Was it just a bad drug transaction? Was it a fight? All of these things still have to be answered. I'd be reluctant to speculate because we're getting so many different stories."
So far, no one has been charged in the shooting, Hausam said, and police are still tracking down a slew of witnesses."
