Warrants issued over League City graffiti
Police say arrest warrants have been issued for two young League City residents who confessed to a recent wave of graffiti, some of which depicted male genitals.
Aaron Ewing, 17, and Christian Lyerla, 19, are each charged with seven counts of graffiti, League City Police Sgt. John Jordan said. Each count is a Class B misdemeanor that carries a fine of up to $2,000 and jail time of up to six months.
One of the suspects is expected to turn himself in this weekend, and the other has an attorney who is making arrangements with police, Jordan said.
Police had received at least 11 reports of graffiti recently and near the site of one incident a police officer spotted Ewing and Lyerla, Jordan said. The two seemed nervous when the officer questioned them, but there wasn't enough probable cause to arrest them at the time.
A detective, however, interviewed them later and got confessions from both, Jordan said.
