Ex-school superintendent to run for council
A familiar name has filed to run for one of Nassau Bay's City Council seats in the city's May 8 election.
Former Clear Creek school district superintendent Sandra Mossman filed Friday morning for the Position 2 seat of Councilwoman Bette Johnson. Johnson cannot seek re-election because of city term limits.
As of Friday morning, Mossman, 65, was the only candidate to file for the position. She listed her occupation as retired and noted she has lived in Nassau Bay for 37 years.
Mossman retired as Clear Creek's superintendent in January 2008 after holding that position for five years. She worked in the district for 24 years.
Sandra Mossman Elementary School, 4050 Village Way in League City, is named in her honor and opened in August. It is part of the district's Education Village.
