Man arrested in restroom peeping incidences
This afternoon police arrested a Dickinson man they say has been hiding out recently in the restrooms of League City stores and peeking at women from under the stalls.
League City spokeswoman Kristi Wyatt said that Juan Gomez, 24, is charged with two counts of disorderly conduct, a Class C misdemeanor. He also has an outstanding Galveston County warrant for failure to truthfully identify himself, a Class B misdemeanor.
The two most recent incidents took place at shopping centers around the Gulf Freeway and FM 646 on Jan. 23 and 30. Workers at the clothing stores where the incidences took place told police the bathroom peeper, who had identifiable scars on his face, also had been hanging around the parking lot showing women pictures from Playboy magazine.
Police said they were able to track him down because he matched the description of a man who received a similar citation for disorderly conduct in August. In that case, he was also accused of looking at women from underneath restroom stalls at a League City store, but police said he failed to appear in court on that charge, and a warrant was issued.
Gomez was found at one of his recent addresses at an apartment in the 3000 block of West Hughes Lane in Dickinson, Wyatt said. This afternoon he was being questioned by League City police, and his bond was set at a total of $2,048.
