Pound of weed seized at Friendswood home

A Friendswood man was arrested Wednesday and charged with possessing just over a pound of hydroponic marijuana.
Vincent Cornett, 23, of Friendswood is charged with a felony of marijuana possession.
Friendswood police said officers executing a search warrant for a home in the 200 block of Salmon Creek Lane found 17.92 ounces of hydroponic marijuana.
Police said they also recovered a handgun loaded with armor-piercing ammunition, scales and drug paraphernalia. The search warrant was obtained as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation by Friendswood police.
Cornett's bond is $10,000. He remains in the Friendswood Jail awaiting transfer to the Galveston County Jail.
