Woman charged after date rape drug found
A Houston woman is facing drug charges after a date rape" substance was found in her vehicle Saturday night during a traffic stop, Friendswood police said.
Courtney Johnson, 27, of Houston is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, police said. She was stopped Saturday about 11:25 p.m. for a traffic violation in the 3100 block of FM 528.
During a search of her vehicle, Johnson was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, police said. She also admitted to being in possession of a bottle with 80 grams of gamma-hydroxybutyrate, often called the date rape" drug, but could not provide a reason as to why she had it, police said.
Officers also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Johnson's possession, police said. She is on probation for a previous federal weapons charge and was transferred to the Harris County Jail on Sunday without bond.
