Del Papa delivers first shipment from new facility
The first shipment of beer from Del Papa Distributing Company's newly constructed Coastal Distribution Center in Texas City went out for delivery at 5 a.m. Monday, April 16.
The company's human resources, administration, point-of-sale and graphic design services will remain on Galveston Island until early May 2012.
"The first delivery was the most important order of business for Del Papa, and now we look forward to completing the rest of the move," said Mike McAfee, vice president of marketing for Del Papa Distributing Company, in a news release. "The new facility will greatly increase the overall efficiency and productivity of the company and allow us to better serve our retailers."
The distribution center construction began in May 2011 and was built on 26.5 acres of land at Century Boulevard along I-45 North. The new mainland location will put the company in a better position to meet long-term growth objectives. The property also includes space allocated for future expansion.
