Galveston Arts Center presents Karin Broker
The work of artist Karin Broker will be displayed in an exhibition at the Galveston Arts Center.
Broker is a Houston-based artist, and the title of her work is "Wired, Nailed, Drawn and Printed." According to a press release, this title reflects the variety of media and methods the artist used.
Broker is the former chair of the Department of Visual Arts at Rice University and currently teaches printmaking and drawing classes at the university. Broker has degrees from the University of Iowa and the University of Wisconsin and has also studied in Paris.
The exhibition will open during the April 21 ArtWalk and remain on view through May 27.
At 6:30 p.m. April 21 during ArtWalk, curator Clint Willour will lead a gallery talk with the artist.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Galveston Art Center is located in a temporary location on the corner of Market and 25th streets downtown. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
