Free trees for Friendswood residents

Friendswood residents will be able to chose from more than 1,000 seedlings and 200 container trees during the city's annual tree giveaway on Saturday, Jan. 23.
The event is for Friendswood residents only and will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at City Hall, 910 S. Friendswood Drive. Trees that will be available include the Bald Cypress and several oak species.
Those interested are encouraged to arrive early for the best selection.
Members of the city's Community Appearance Board will be handing out information sheets on each tree species and how to plant them. A master gardener will also be available to answer questions.
