University of Houston-Clear Lake's School of Education announced the recipients of its Spring Success Through Education Program scholarships.

The program focuses on providing opportunities for students to explore teaching. It is a collaborative effort between Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District, Galveston Independent School District, Galena Park Independent School District, Houston Independent School District, Houston Community College-Southeast, Lee College, Galveston College and San Jacinto North Community College.

The announcement was made at the Success Through Education Program February kickoff luncheon. Guest speaker Ron Klinger, associate director of organizational development, presented “Your Leaderships Legacy: Unleashing the Superhero in You” to luncheon attendees. The luncheon also provided a meet-and-greet opportunity for students to get acquainted with School of Education faculty members.

Students receiving the scholarship included Yacel Amador, Claudia Estrada, Adelaida Gonzalez, Rebecca Haseloff, Jessica Mendoza and Tania Mederos.

The University of Houston-Clear Lake is located at 2700 Bay Area Blvd. in Houston. For more information on the Success Through Education Program, visit prtl.uhcl.edu/portal/page/portal/SOE/Advising/STEP.
