Share a goodbye toast to Outpost Tavern

The Outpost Tavern, one of Clear Lake's most well-known astronaut hangouts, will celebrate its 30th anniversary today with a chili and champagne goodbye party.
The bar plans to close for good at the end of the month, and Saturday, Jan. 9, is the official send-off.
The restaurant opens at 11 a.m., when 30 teams begin competing in one last chili cookoff.
The judging starts at 3 p.m., and awards will begin at 5 p.m., along with a champagne toast to "30 great years of friendship," said proprietor Stephanie Foster.
"I'm excited and kind of sad all at the same time," she said.
