Texas 96 to be closed at Calder Road

The eastbound lanes of Texas 96 at Calder Road in League City will be closed Wednesday morning through Saturday afternoon.
The July 7-11 closure will allow the Texas Department of Transportation to replace the intersection's pavement. Work will start at 8 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Residents need to be prepared to take an alternate route, city spokeswoman Kristi Wyatt said.
Eastbound traffic should detour to FM 518 East and proceed south on Texas 3 to return to Texas 96, according to a notice on League City's Web site.
"We just want people to be aware of it so they don't wake up and they're stuck in traffic," Wyatt said. "That's what irritates people, not being ready for what's to come. We want people to be safe and careful. If you plan ahead, you won't be late."
