Hurricane Ike's toll continues. State Farm is sending out notices to 1,700 homeowners who are about to lose coverage, mostly in the Clear Lake area. The insurer no longer wants to cover anyone living within 2,500 feet of bays or coastal waters. Read more from the Galveston County Daily News.

Last night the committee working on next year's school boundaries said it's sticking to recommendations that could affect all four high schools and 3,100 Clear Creek ISD students next fall.
