Friendswood announces changes in permit fees

The City of Friendswood increased development-related permit fees to offset costs for the existing tax base and remain competitive with surrounding communities. The new fees went into effect Feb. 1.

As of now, the fees for the issuance of electric, plumbing and mechanical permits are $25; building contractor licenses are $100 initially and $25 to renew; after-hours inspections are $100; commercial site plans are $500; development permits are $25; and tenant occupancy fees are $75.
