Fundraiser to be held at Jackie's Brick House
New Millennium Project, based in Houston, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health of women in all spheres of life.
Rays of Light, Hope for Healing will hold a fundraiser from 2-5 p.m. March 4 at Jackie's Brick House, 1053 Marina Bay Drive, Kemah, to raise funds for Reiki treatments for female veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Reiki is Japanese-style, hands-on healing treatment designed to lower stress and anxiety levels. In 2007, the federal government awarded the Pentagon $5 million to study its effects on reducing the symptoms of PTSD among veterans.
